Recipe: New Potato and Cold Smoked Mackerel Salad

So the summer has come – the season of vegetables, fruits, herbs and berries, now their benefit is at the highest position. So you need to enrich your diet with these products. And of course, do not forget about our delicious fish, which year-round, regardless of the season, saturates our body with vitamins, minerals and Omega-3 fatty acids. We suggest you combining smoked mackerel with young potatoes and prepare an incredibly tasty and healthy salad.


So, you will need:


– cold smoked mackerel – 1 piece (you need to use the fish of our production “Vohni Hestii – VH-fish”)


– new potatoes – 300 g


– celery – 1 bundle


– spring onions – 1 bundle


– mayonnaise sauce – 6 tablespoons


– olive oil – 1 tablespoon


– French mustard in grains – 3 tablespoons


Now we start cooking:



  • Сlean mackerel of innards, bones and cut into medium-sized cubes

  • Сhop celery and spring onions

  • Don’t peel the young potatoes, just wash them with a brush and boil. Cool slightly and cut into slices

  • For dressing, mix olive oil, French mustard and mayonnaise sauce.

  • Put the potatoes in a bowl and immediately season with dressing. Add mackerel, celery, spring onion, add salt and pepper to taste


Presto! Our salad is ready. It can be served both warm and cold. It depends on your preferences and mood.
